Children and young people

Children are an important part of our church life, and are welcome to participate in any of our services or take part in our Junior Church activities.

Junior Church

Our Junior Church meets at Elvet during the morning service each Sunday from 10.30 a.m.

At the moment we have about ten youngsters aged from 3 years and upwards, and three teachers plus additional helpers. Within Junior Church we use various ways to teach the children the Christian message of God’s love for them: these include story telling, drama, art, cooking, music and dance. The children also take part in some of our all age worship services – these usually involve music, drama, prayers or bible readings.

All of the teachers have a DBS check and play a large part in the nurturing of our children within our church.

Crèche

The Crèche has a variety of toys, books, etc which will appeal to babies/toddlers up to the age of 3. Childcare in the crèche is available by arrangement on Sunday mornings from 10.20 am and is run by a small, willing and enthusiastic group of ladies. This facility gives parents the opportunity to have peace of mind whilst they are in the service, knowing their child is being well cared for and happy in Crèche.

Please email the Crèche team to request childcare.

Messy Mornings

Our friendly toddler group for pre-school children from 0 to 5 years old (with their parents/carers) meets every Monday morning in school term, from 9.30 to 11.30 in the worship area at North Road. Craft activities, free play, Bible story, singing, healthy snack, and lots of ride-on cars! Cost: £1 per child, 50p per adult. No pre-booking required.
